God is Great

Over the last 18 months my husband and I have been trying to conceive our second child. Our first child, Matthew, is in heaven with God. He was 5 months gestation before he went to the celestial kingdom. It was a pregnant fluke that happens to 1 in a million women. God truly gives challenges to those who can handle it. 18 long months of fertility medicine, shots, doctors appointments, and endless prayer. We had some good news today..not pregnancy news. But we are told today is a great day to try and conceive. I am been praying all day especially for the chance to have a bundle of joy.
We have also seen great blessings in the church. When another sister spoke up at Relief society about a new friend needing help, I was able to connect with her and we will be donating an old dining room table and set of chairs that my papa left for us to just keep in the barn. This family will be able to have many nice dinners, and conversations at this table. We are blessed to me able to help.

I am currently up to 2 Nephi chapter15. I have read other parts but from the very beginning this is where I am so far...hey I only have began reading since end of september and have been reading various parts with the local missionaries. I have been assigned a visiting teacher and I couldn't be happier with who she is. She has become a friend of mine and she has helped talk with me theses past 2-3 months about infertility and keeping the faith. She has adopted 3 beautiful children with special needs and is an inspiration. I was praying to be able to work with her on the teaching level and that was truly answered.

One power of prayer story I want to share is about my best friend. Felicia has been raised mormon since maybe about age 10. She was the friend who woke up everyday for seminary and I would roll of the bus and see what she had learned that morning. I would go to super saturdays and church with her. I would enjoy nights at home with her and her family. These past few years she has (what I will call) strayed from the church. She experienced some negativities in her old ward and when she moved to her new home she didn't try and reach out. She has actually been praying about having a friend to go back to church with. Then there I was talking with the missionaries and deciding  that yes this book is in fact true and Joseph Smith really restored the Gospel.  I then asked her what her thoughts were on going back and at first she was unsure. But after she went she felt piece. The following week she didn't need to take her sleeping medicine that she was taking before to help her get to sleep. She was able to see that God really gave her that friend to go back to church with her....not only a friend but her very best friend.   What could be better???!!! I say nothing. When she shared this story with the sister missionaries in her area I teared up. Felicia has been my very best friend for nearly 15 years now and she is not always one to be over emotional. She is the rock in our friendship. She is strong for everyone else and has always been there for me when I have needed her. She even drove over an hour to be with me when I was losing Matthew. This is the true friendship which can't be imitated unless you are truly a best friend.

I am so honored to be able to continue this faith journey with her. What a true blessing.
